Restoring movement and function

About Us

FG Physiotherapy specialises in treating musculoskeletal conditions with training in manual therapy techniques. FG physiotherapy provides a service with skills and expertise to help diagnose and treat all injury problems and increase levels of fitness, health and well-being. All joints of the body can be assessed from head to toe and our specialist range of physiotherapy and related treatments can help relieve pain, reduce swelling and inflammation, reduce joint and muscle stiffness and promote healing of soft tissue injuries.

FG Physiotherapy is run by Fiona Gelnar who qualified as a physiotherapist in 2012 following a career in the Royal Air Force. She is a member of the UK Chartered Society of Physiotherapists and is registered with the UK Health and Care Professions Council. Fiona has extensive post graduate education and training, including a Master of Science degree in health and well-being. She has completed a number of specialist courses and is currently studying APPI matwork pilates. Fiona is also qualified in fitness instruction, water based exercise instruction, indoor cycling and tai chi for therapy.

Fiona has a passion for promoting physical health, activity and wellbeing. Here at FG Physiotherapy our aim is to enable people to lead a healthy and pain free life and meet any sporting, work or everyday need through physical rehabilitation, treatment and massage therapy. As a mother of two small children I also understand the complexities and physical demand that pregnancy places upon your body. In order to support you ante & postnatally I can offer pregnancy massage, adapted pilates based exercises and lifestyle advice. In the near future I will also be able to offer more advanced manual therapy techniques in order to reduce pelvic girdle pain.

FG Physiotherapy has valuable experience in both the public and private sector in the UK.

Effective treatment from UK qualified physiotherapist

Physiotherapy

Physiotherapy aims to restore movement and function when a person sustains an injury. The foundations of Physiotherapy practise are based on a comprehensive knowledge of the body’s anatomy, physiology, biomechanics and pathological processes. With this combination of knowledge a Physiotherapist can evaluate pain and dysfunction to determine how best to resolve it.

Here For You

Therapeutic Massage

FG Physiotherapy offer a range of different massage treatments. Massage therapy helps to alleviate pain and enables you to function at a higher level. People who spend sustained hours sat down, work on a computer or who conduct prolonged hours of driving may

eventually develop neck tension and discomfort that may gradually become problematic. Others who play lots of sport or who are involved in other leisure and recreational activities may develop tight and sore muscles. Sport, remedial, relaxation and deep tissue massage help to relieve muscular aches and pains, reduce swelling, reduce neck & back pain and alleviate tension headaches.
